Sacred Valley Express ending in Ollantaytambo: book today until 8 pm and tomorrow at 3:30 pm you are 15 minutes from your train
70% refund with 30 days’ notice, 50% with 72 hours and 30% with 48. A booking for tomorrow is not refundable.
Two hours shorter than the full Express because it does not return to Cusco or stop at Pisac.
We pick you up in the historic center; the bus heads back to Cusco without you at 3:30 pm.
You ride the same bus as the Express with return; only where you get off changes.
Certified; goes in with you at Chinchero, Maras, Moray and Ollantaytambo.
The Tourist Ticket for Chinchero, Moray and Ollantaytambo, and the community entrance at Maras; both in soles.
What you will do
The Maras and Moray route for travelers who continue by train to Machu Picchu that afternoon or sleep in the valley: you leave at 6:20 am, visit Chinchero, the Maras salt mines and Moray before lunch, and at 2:15 pm you enter Ollantaytambo, where the tour ends at 3:30 pm.
It is the same bus, guide and lunch as the Express with return to Cusco, minus the last stop: it does not visit Pisac, which is why it is 4 sites and not 5, and it costs US$1 less because the ride back is not included. You finish inside the archaeological park; the station is a 15-minute walk away, with time for the afternoon trains.
- Chinchero at 7:40 am, the highest point of the day, with the weavers
- The 3,000-plus salt pans of Maras and the circular terraces of Moray before lunch
- A 50-minute buffet lunch in Urubamba, included in the US$31
- Ollantaytambo from 2:15 to 3:30 pm: fortress, Temple of the Sun and the inhabited Inca town
Options and price per person
The same price as a month ago, also if you book tonight. It is US$31 and not US$32 because the ride back to Cusco is not included.

Tu tren a Machu Picchu
At 3:30 pm the guided visit ends inside the Ollantaytambo archaeological park. You walk out of the park gate and in 15 minutes on foot, across the town, you are at the station: enough time for the mid-afternoon trains, or to stay the night in the valley and go up to Machu Picchu at dawn.
You buy the ticket yourself from the rail company; we do not sell it. Bring the luggage for the rest of your trip, because the bus returns to Cusco without you. Book today before 8 pm and your pickup time is on WhatsApp tonight.

Reviews
Rating of the Express route on TripAdvisor, shared with the version that returns to Cusco; the operator, Enjoy Peru Holidays, scores 4.7 out of 5 on the same platform. We do not publish testimonials of our own.
For trains leaving Ollantaytambo from mid-afternoon on, yes: the station is a 15-minute walk from the archaeological park, where the visit ends. If your ticket is for before 4 pm, message us on WhatsApp before paying and we will check the time with you.
Yes, online until 8 pm (Cusco time, GMT−5), any day of the week; at our office on Av. Tullumayo 111-B, until 7:30 pm Monday to Saturday. Ask about space on WhatsApp first. US$31, the same as booking a month ahead. There are no same-day departures.
Because the tour ends at 3:30 pm in Ollantaytambo and Pisac is the last stop on the version that returns, at 4:50 pm. You see Chinchero, Maras, Moray and Ollantaytambo. If you want all 5 sites and have no train to catch, the Express with return to Cusco costs US$32 and is back at 7 pm.
No: the service ends at the archaeological park, when the guided visit finishes, and the bus heads back to Cusco with the rest of the group. The station and the hotels in town are a 15-minute walk away on flat streets.
Two tickets, neither included in the US$31: the Tourist Ticket for Chinchero, Moray and Ollantaytambo, and the salt-mine entrance charged by the community of Maras. Both are paid in soles on the day of the tour; the amounts are set by the ticket administration and by the community and change without notice, so we confirm the current figures on WhatsApp when you book.
Inside the last 24 hours there is no refund, and a booking for tomorrow always falls there. You can move the booking to another day if there is space; and if we are the ones calling it off because of weather or force majeure, you choose between rebooking or a refund through WeTravel. With 48 hours, 72 hours or 30 days’ notice we refund 30%, 50% or 70%.
It does not travel on the bus, which is not coming back to Cusco for you. Leave it at your hotel in Cusco (most keep it free of charge until you return from Machu Picchu) and come to the valley with a backpack for one or two nights. Confirm it with your hotel the night before.
Yes, it is the most common use of this departure: you finish at 3:30 pm in the town, book your own accommodation and take the early train the next day. Pack what you need for those nights in a backpack.
Yes: the Tourist Ticket is issued and checked against the original document. Bring the physical passport; a photo on your phone is not accepted at the checkpoint.
Ask us on WhatsApp with the ages or the student card before paying: we confirm which tour rate applies and whether a reduced Tourist Ticket applies, which has rules of its own.
We leave anyway: in the valley the rain comes in the afternoon and passes, and the sites stay open. Only if an authority closes a site or a road does force majeure apply, and then you rebook or we refund the full amount.
At our office on Av. Tullumayo 111-B yes, Monday to Saturday until 7:30 pm, in soles or dollars. Online the charge is in US dollars through WeTravel, by card. The entrance tickets are always paid in soles on the day of the tour.
